Broken Headphones: Don't Let Them Cost You an Arm and a Leg

'Every day I wake up and ask myself "is this the day my headphones are going to break?"'

After coming across a facebook group called 'I hate broken headphones', I decided to see what could be done to solve the problem of broken headphones without having to part with money for a new pair.

I did some research and discovered that HMV have a way to prevent spending sometimes hundreds of pounds a year to replace broken headphones. They don't openly advertise the service; you have to ask for it, but you can get your headphones guaranteed for a couple of pounds. The price depends on that of the headphones, but to give you an example, a £14-£15 pair can be guaranteed for £1.99 for the year. This means that if your headphones break during that time you can get another pair as a replacement for free.

This guarantee means effectively that you are only paying £1.99 for your second pair when, inevitably, your headphones break. You can then place the guarantee on that set of headphones too and effectively never pay more than the price of the guarantee for your headphones! It's that simple. And if the headphones break within one month you keep the guarantee, meaning your next pair can be considered totally free. It even covers accidental damage.

It should be noted that this service is not just for headphones; it covers a wide range of items, but if your headphones break a lot it may well be worth considering for them especially.

Well, that's all I really wanted to tell you. I hope you found it useful.
